The Georgia Department of Banking and Finance has taken possession of Atlanta-based Capitol City Bank & Trust Company.

The department announced the closing late Friday. The Superior Court of Fulton County issued an order appointing the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation as receiver of the bank effective upon the state taking possession, the state banking agency said in a press release.
